I don't buy it for one second. I think Orr absolutely knew what he was doing. Orr was facing Green the entire time, and the puck was knocked into the air at the same time Orr hit Green, so there goes the theory that Orr was looking up in the sky for the puck, because he was nowhere near catching it. Meyers was the one batting it away.
So Orr wouldn't have been looking at the puck just because he wasn't within arms' reach of it? Have you ever played hockey? At any rate, Orr's head was quite clearly not turned in Green's direction. He might have been looking at Green out of the corner of his eye, but his head was facing the direction of the puck.

And Orr isn't the type of player to do that? Really? They'll say anything on NHL On the Fly and people will believe it. Orr has done this before, when the Rags were up 3-0 over the Caps in New York. He cross checked Ovechkin in the neck/upper chest.
I never said Orr isn't the type to lay a dirty hit. I know he is. This didn't look like that type of play to me. Cross-checking someone in the chest isn't particularly dirty, anyway. If he wanted to be a dick, he could have hit him up high. He could have put his shoulder onto Green's chin.

Yeah, it's one of those heat of the moment plays, but I still think Orr knew exactly what he was doing, which was a high cross check. Watch the slow motion in the replays, especially the 2nd and 3rd angle replays. Looked intentional to me.
I've watched 'em. Looks like plays I've been involved with in a roller hockey league, where some guy has his head down and turns right into me. Happens.
